MAC Viva Glam Gaga

MAC recently came out with 2 new Viva Glam lipsticks, Viva Glam Cyndi for Cyndi Lauper and Viva Glam Gaga for Lady Gaga. All the proceeds from the sales of this lipstick goes to the MAC AIDS Fund which supports the fight against HIV/AIDS.

I've only picked up Viva Glam Gaga so far, but will probably go back for Viva Glam Cyndi at some point.

I like that their signatures are printed on the box, as well as on the lipstick packaging.

You can see the signature on the tube.

Swatched on my skin.

Here it is on my lips. It's more wearable than I thought it would be. Applied heavily, it's a bit pale for my skintone, but it can be easily worn a bit more on the sheer side as well. Just make sure your lips are well moisturized when you're wearing this, I found that it can accentuate any dryness.

Did you pick up either of the new Viva Glam lipsticks? What do you think of them?

  1. I actually ended up picking up both lipsticks. I have only used the Gaga lipstick, though. Since my lips are naturally very dark/pigmented, I ended up needing to put quite a bit on there. I had to tone it down with a lipgloss, but I really liked it. I agree with needing to moisturize the lips. Thanks for the swatches!!! :D

  2. @Mellie - I've seen swatches of people using both Gaga and Cyndi on their lips and it's really pretty! Pairing Gaga with a gloss to tone it down is a good idea too, I'm not used to wearing such pale colours on my lips! :)

  3. I got both of them girl!! and also got them in my prize hehe so now I have backups :P I love Cindy more for a lightly bold/every day red lip and Gaga for a more fun look, I loved it with shopaholic gloss because it kind of makes it a bit warmer :) excellent post

  4. @Mariana - I saw you won both of them, lucky girl! It'll be great to have backups of these since they won't be around forever. I still have to go back for Cyndi! :)

  5. I haven't picked them up yet, but I plan to. I'm waiting for the hype to die down since they'll be around for a year. =)

  6. I got Cindy and while I liked it; I didn't love it...until I wore it with a dark plum liner. I skipped Gaga but am thinking that maybe I'll pick it up the next time that I'm there.

  7. I picked up both & like them both. Cyndi has a more orange tone than I thought it would but I like it.

Gaga I have to work with to get it to look right on my skin tone. I got a tip from @karenmbb & she recommended I line & fill my lips with Dervish l/l and then apply Gaga. Works well for me. The problem is that my lips are too pigmented so I need to tone them down.

  10. @Jeweled Thumb - I really like that they'll be around for a while so I have time to pick up Cyndi later on too.

@Naomi - Ohh, trying with different lip liners, that's a great idea! I don't own too many, but am looking forward to picking up some from Too Fabulous.

@marisol - Yeah, I'm going to have try the lip liner trick. I think I'm going to pick up a couple from Too Fabulous.

@Magdalena - Enjoy them when they come out! It must be hard having to wait for collections sometimes, but at least you get to see what everyone thinks about things online and then being able to think about it before you make any decisions to buy anything :)

@Ms. Champagne - I know what you mean, MAC has been making me go poor too lately! I'm excited for the Liberty of London collection to come out as well. I don't have Colour Crafted to compare though, sorry!
