MAC Spring Colour Forecast Colour 3 & Colour 4 Quads

I bought both the quads from the MAC Spring Colour Forecast Collection.

I really like purple eye shadows, though I don't have that many. I was excited to get Mink Pink in this quad as well, it's a colour that I'd been wanting for a while that MAC had discontinued. I like that there is a mixture of different eye shadow finishes, I like to mix it up when I do my eyes.

I'm all about neutrals. They're easy, they're great for work. The shadow I like the most from this quad is Creole Beauty, it's such a gorgeous rich brown colour!

These both come with the new quad packaging. I must say, I'm not really a fan. They are a lot bulkier and hold fingerprints like crazy. I have barely touched my quads except to get these swatches and pictures, but already you can see my fingerprints all over them. They are a lot thicker than the older quads as well. I suppose one advantage is that they seem like they may be more durable. If you're into depotting your quads though, I'm not sure how to go about doing that with these, if it's even possible.

I'm still happy with these though and can't wait to play with them some more. Did you pick up either of these?

  1. These look lovely! I am trying to resist though as I have more than enough shadows to last a lifetime. LOL

  2. These colours are so pretty! I really like the purple quad but I have too many purples already that I should use first.

  5. I got both of them and I love both the quads, they are so pretty, I am putting them in high rotation right now. Have you tried the pigment stacks?

  6. @Lipstick Rules - Haha I probably have enough eye shadows to last more than 1 lifetime, and yet I continue to buy, they're so pretty I can't stop! :)

@The Asian Pear - It really is a lovely colour, one of my faves from the quad!

@blu3 - Haha if I made myself use up what I already had before buying more stuff, I'd never be able to buy anything ever again :)

@marisol - I really do like them, just not huge on the new quad design at all. :(

@Sara - Thanks! Swatches on other blogs always make me want so many things too hehe

@makeupbykatie - It's a great quad if you're into neutrals, all of the shadows are really pigmented and smooth!

@Jill-O - I haven't tried the pigment stacks, I used to have a ton of pigments and found I never really reached for them so I decided to pass on them. I really liked the colours in the stack with the goldish and green colours though. I'm just more into pressed shadows. I just checked your blog and saw you picked that up, how are you liking it? I do really like that you get 4 colours in 1 stack, I find the jars of pigments impossible to use up!

  7. I'm still pondering some of the quads. The colours are lovely, but admittedly I don't reach for my quads as much as I'd like.. and I can't bring myself to depot them.

  8. @Nepenthe I know what you mean, I didn't buy quads for the longest time because I find I never reach for the ones I do have, I tend to only use what's in my 15 palettes but I figured these were so pretty that I would try to make more of an effort! :)
