China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint

I'm a big fan of mint green nail polishes. Mint Candy Apple was my first Essie polish and that colour has me hooked on them. When I saw that China Glaze was coming out with a mint in their Up & Away collection, I knew I had to have it.

China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint
Re-Fresh Mint is a bit on the thick side, but does apply quite easily. I used 2 coats here.

I also did a comparison of the couple of similar colours I have in my collection.

Essie Mint Candy Apple, China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint, China Glaze For Audrey

China Glaze For Audrey, Essie Mint Candy Apple, China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint
Please excuse the messy application, seems like the macro setting on my camera captures the little mistakes that aren't so noticable to my eyes! :)

As you can see, Re-Fresh Mint is a nice clean mint green, where Mint Candy Apple has a bit of a blue undertone. For Audrey really isn't that similar on the nail. I used 2 coats of each here.

  1. I am absolutely in love with this color family, haha. I'm thinking I should try picking up this polish, too...it's gorgeous! I got For Audrey, which hooked me on China Glaze. I got Mint Candy Apple...got me hooked on Essie. I'm just a sucker for these minty greens, lol. Great post! :)

  2. Pretty colour! I'm lemming either this or Essie Candy Apple. Might go with this since its cheaper at Sallys stores than Essie would ever be :)

  3. Wow that color is truly gorgeous! I think this might be my new spring color- my Peppermint Patti of 2010 :) I also love For Audrey- wore it all last summer on my toes!- so I'm sure I'd love this color.

  4. PS- I noticed MAC is releasing a similar color in the To the Beach collection- wonder how different it's gonna be?

  5. @Mellie - I love these kinds of colours too! You should check this polish out, it's so pretty. I'm liking a lot of the colours from the Up and Away collection actually, I think this may be my fave.

@Abby Q - Yeah I am kind of kicking myself for not getting Peppermint Patti! MAC has been coming out with a lot of polishes that I like the colour of I just have always been disappointed with the wear of the ones I've had in the past. I might cave and get something again to retry it in the future though. I'm curious to see the one coming out with To The Beach as well. I'm starting to think that I might as well just sign over all my future paychecks to MAC with all these collections they've got coming out! :)

  6. @blu3 - I love how cheap China Glaze is at Sally's, I just hate the fact that there really isn't one that's convenient to get to!

  7. ChG isn't cheap at Sally anymore, unfortunately. I am having this colour on right now too :-) Also found it thick, and boy, your application is a lot better than mine
